Structure

The PASO Office is overseen by a General Manager who is the most senior Executive Officer of PASO. The General Manager is responsible to the PASO Council, through the Chairperson, for the overall direction and implementation of PASO’s Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plans, as determined by the PASO Council.

The General Manager is also required to foster close cooperation among PASO Members, and proactively engage in strategic partnerships to meet PASO’s objectives.

PASO is headquartered in Port Vila, Vanuatu, under a hosting agreement with the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu. Under the Agreement, the Vanuatu Government provides office facilities and an annual operating budget, including funding for five Ni-Vanuatu staff to coordinate the work of PASO and provide administrative support.

In addition, strategic support from the New Zealand Government provides funding for PASO senior management roles. Separate project funding from the World Bank and the Australian Government provides for senior project management contracted staff and short-term project technical consultants.
