🚀 PASO March 2025 Updates – Strengthening Pacific Aviation! ✈️
Greetings from PASO Headquarters in Port Vila, Vanuatu! As we step into March 2025, here are the latest updates from our aviation community:
✅ Donor Support:
- Australia’s DFAT is finalizing a new grant agreement, set to take effect by the end of March 2025.
- New Zealand’s MFAT & CAANZ reaffirmed their commitment to PASO until June 2026, with potential extensions. CAANZ is providing critical mechanisms to enhance PASO’s aviation oversight.
✅ Strengthening Member Relationships:
PASO’s Senior Management Team (SMT) has been assigned to member States to foster better communication and support. Expect outreach from your designated PASO contact soon!
✅ Quality Management:
PASO is reinforcing its Quality Assurance Framework with the appointment of George Tudreu as Head of Quality Management, aligning with ICAO’s evolving safety oversight initiatives.
✅ Upcoming Events:
📅 Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting – 19-21 March 2025, Fiji
📅 ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC2025) – 14-17 April 2025, Qatar
📅 PASO AGM & Council of Directors Meeting – 26-30 May 2025, Samoa
✅ ICAO Audits & Documentation Rollout:
- USAP Audits scheduled for PNG (May 2025) and Solomon Islands (2026).
- More than 1,000+ guidance materials & checklists are being prepared to enhance compliance with ICAO standards.
✅ Scholarship Opportunity:
🌍 Qatar Aviation Scholarships – Applications close end of March! Interested candidates should apply via zschwenke@paso.aero.
✅ Office Relocation:
PASO’s new office is now at Casablanca House, Captain Cook Avenue, Seaside following the recent earthquake.
