🎉 CELEBRATING WOMEN EMPOWERMENT 🎉
The Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO) is dedicated to promoting gender equity within the organization. Their commitment extends to aligning with regional and international frameworks to enable PASO to assist Member States, foster a positive and supportive work environment, and offer recommendations for gender programming in the aviation sector.
PASO acknowledges and celebrates the dedication and contributions of female employees in both the organization and the broader aviation industry across its Member and Associated states. The organization highlights a diverse workforce, proudly comprising up to 63% women, with various ethnic backgrounds.
For our International Women’s Day 2024, PASO is celebrating a long serving female staff, Mrs. Jessica Kalkaua Fred who has served PASO for almost 15 years.
Jessica is a Ni-Vanuatu from an off-shore island of Pele, Efate. Jessica joined PASO in July 2009 as a Receptionist. A mother of 5, Jessica carries out her role with energy, commitment, loyalty, and a dogged determination to get the job done. She excelled her way through various roles and in May 2023, she was appointed as the Workplan Implementation Manager.
Jessica plays a crucial role in facilitating activities for each Member State by interacting with State Officials and PASO Inspectors. Her responsibilities include implementing technical systems, managing data, and overseeing aviation safety and security projects based on Member States’ requests.
Jessica also assists member States in handling relevant ICAO information and has cultivated positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing significantly to the success of PASO.
Despite her current position demanding technical aviation skills, Jessica has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to learn and adapt to the role. Her outstanding work ethic has positioned her as a valuable asset to PASO.
We celebrate the unwavering commitment and dedication of Jessica Kalkaua Fred and all female colleagues in PASO and Member States across the Pacific Region, united in their efforts to ensure “Safer Skies, Connected Lives, our Pacific Vision.” 🌟
